Pamela Edevold is a realist artist specializing in portraiture and figurative painting. After spending most of her career on commission work in several different media, including colored pencil, oil, watercolor, and chalk pastel, she is now focused on exploring her new favorite medium, Golden Open Acrylics. The versatility of this paint allows her to experiment and approach each new painting with the goal of creating a piece that emulates either an oil or watercolor painting, while retaining her love of detail and realism.
Originally from Grafton, ND, Pamela now lives with her husband on his family’s farm in northern Minnesota. With their three daughters grown, Pamela is working on her art full time. Self taught, primarily through books and lots of drawing and painting, she looks forward to continued learning and improvement. Artist Statement
My work is not only about realistic representation and capturing the emotion and personality of my models, but is about my personal growth as an artist, a teacher, and as an individual. I’m drawn to positive and uplifting subjects that also challenge me to improve my ability and technique with each painting. After much experimenting with different media, I have become smitten with Golden Open Acrylics, using it as I would both oil and watercolor paints, and will concentrate on this medium as long as my passion for it remains.
