Pamela Edevold is a self-taught artist, who has been busy drawing and painting commissioned portraits for nearly thirty years. Her work is full of people and animals, emotion and personality. Pam's portraits and paintings are displayed in several American universities and businesses, as well as private homes in this and many other countries.
While growing up in a small town in North Dakota, Pam's mother was a hobbyist, ceramist and china painter. The house was always full of art materials. Pam was never taught how to use a media, but learned herself through books and lots of practice. Then she would teach as much as she could to people of all ages and abilities who came to her for private tutoring. She still enjoys working with a variety of media, and is continually sampling new materials and experimenting with new techniques while retaining her love of detail and realism.
Currently, Pam's studio and frame shop is on a farm in northern Minnesota where she lives with her husband of twenty-six years and their three daughters. She was fortunate to have a job that allowed her to work full time at home while raising her children, but now that they are leaving the nest she looks forward to more time in her studio.
